Bio Med Sciences announces the issuance of US Patent No. 8,084,051 titled “THERAPEUTIC MEDICAL GARMENTS WITH SILICONE SHEETING COMPONENT FOR SCAR TREATMENT, PROCESS OF MANUFACTURE AND USEFUL ARTICLES THEREOF.” This patent covers the Company’s Silon-TEX product which has become a standard of care in burn centers around the world for the reduction and prevention of scars. Mark Dillon, Bio Med President, commented: “This was a hard-fought patent, taking longer to issue than any others we have. Although long ago issued in other countries, it was won on appeal here in the US. This actually strengthens the validity of the Patent in that it was not issued by a single examiner but by a panel of examiners.
