Bio Med Sciences Announces the
Introduction
of Silon Dual-Dress Extra
Bio Med Sciences, Inc. of Allentown, PA announces the introduction of Silon® Dual-Dress Extra™ for chronic wounds. Silon Dual-Dress Extra is the latest addition to Bio Med’s current line of woundcare and scar management products. Silon Dual-Dress Extra is a single dressing with two different functions. One side consists of an open-celled hydrophilic foam. The other side consists of Silon-TSR® semi-occlusive film. The Silon (colored blue) is perforated to allow exudate to wick away from the wound. With the foam side of the dressing against the wound the product behaves as a traditional, highly absorbent foam dressing. With the Silon side of the dressing against the wound the product provides a non-adherent covering for fragile and sensitive wounds combined with the absorptive capacity of a foam dressing. This dual functionality provides clinicians with a greater range of options for a wide variety of wound conditions. Silon Dual-Dress Extra has demonstrated excellent clinical results for treating chronic wounds such as decubitus ulcers, venous stasis ulcers and diabetic foot wounds. Silon Dual-Dress Extra is also indicated for skin tears, skin graft donor sites, abrasions, autograft sites and second degree burns.
