Bio Med Sciences, Inc. was founded in 1987 to develop and market advanced materials for biomedical applications. The Company's patented technology relates to a blend of polydimethylsiloxane (silicone) and polytetrafluoroethylene (Teflon). This blend has unusual physical and chemical properties – particularly when formed into thin membranes.
The Silon-IPN technology enables the production of very thin and soft silicone sheeting without the loss of strength and durability associated with conventional methods. By carefully engineering Silon's formulation and process conditions, a wide variety of properties can be achieved.
Bio Med has successfully developed its IPN technology into the Silon,
Oleeva and SeaAllure lines of products. These products are
all based on the Company’s proprietary technology with numerous issued patents.
Silon products are sold into the burn treatment, plastic surgery, dermatology, long-term care, rehabilitation
and consumer markets. The Company sells direct as well as through distributors. The Silon family of products are only available from Bio Med Sciences and through our
